Valerie Spain

As a life coach, Valerie’s mission is to help people wake up to who they are beneath their conditioning. To help them respond rather than react to challenges and to cultivate and experience joy. Her clients gain the clarity to safely shed habits and mindsets by learning mindfulness and body awareness practices based on brain science. Her specialties include communication across differences, leadership development, equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) in the workplace. Valerie’s DEIB focus is making the invisible visible, helping white leaders understand how the culture of white supremacy and whiteness operates within them and their organizations. She also facilitates white antiracist affinity groups.

Valerie’s coaching practice is deeply informed by a multifaceted career as a communications professional, commercial artist, doula, and entrepreneur. She also developed complex multi-sector public health programs focused on health equity for over eight years. A high point of this work was finding Alex and Mindful Eating for the Beloved Community because it aligns with her personally, professionally, and spiritually.

Valerie is ethnically European and identifies as a racially white, cisgender woman who uses she/her pronouns.
